U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander plans to visit the Washington County community of Dry Creek to see recovery efforts in the area that was ravaged by flood waters.
Mayor Dan Eldridge told WJHL-TV that Alexander wants to make sure residents are getting what they need and that measures are being taken to protect the area from future flooding. He is expected to arrive in the community on Monday.
The station reports much of the recovery effort has come from private funding. The Appalachia Service Project is currently in the process of building a second phase of new homes for people who lost theirs in the August floods.
