The advertisements will highlight Lamar’s recent legislative success in stopping the overreach of the federal government barring access to fishing below the dams on the Cumberland River. This issue is of importance to more than 900,000 Tennesseans who carry fishing licenses.

The 30 second television spot  will air statewide with a particular emphasis in the Middle-Tennessee region most impacted by the legislation.

A 60 second radio ad  will also begin the week of July 8 .The radio ad  includes  statements by Sen. Alexander and both Kentucky Senators, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, taken from a '"Freedom to Fish" rally at Lake Barkley earlier this year. The TV ad includes statements by Alexander and Paul.  The total two-week gross media buy, inclusive of broadcast, cable and radio, is budgeted at just under $180,000.

This media buy compliments the campaign’s periodic release of web stories highlighting Lamar’s ongoing efforts to stand up for Tennesseans.  Of note is the campaign's recent release of a web video featuring Rutherford County business owner Shane Reeves discussing Obamacare’s impact on his business.  The campaign will continue to release web stories throughout the summer including testimonials from a songwriter, an auto industry executive, a school principal, college students and others.
