Lamar Alexander’s re-election campaign today announced the launch of a statewide television ad demonstrating his consistent, principled stand against Obamacare, and disclosed that he’d raised more than $900,000 in the second quarter. Alexander’s cash on hand stands at more than $3.4 million.
The ad begins, “Republicans chose Tennessee’s Lamar Alexander to lead” and shows Alexander’s debate with President Obama at the White House Health Care Summit. The two spar over Alexander’s statement that the president’s plan would lead to more expensive health insurance premiums for individuals. Later, both President Obama and Fox News affirmed that Alexander was right – and the president was wrong – about the true costs of Obamacare.
The 30-second television aid airs statewide beginning July 6. Watch the “Lamar Was Right” ad at www.repealobamacaretn.com.
In addition, the campaign disclosed that Alexander would report more than $900,000 raised in the fundraising period from April 1 to June 30. That puts Alexander’s total amount of cash on hand at more than $3.4 million going into July.
The Obamacare ad follows the release of an endorsement ad featuring former presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, as well as a series of radio ads featuring community leaders across Tennessee.

The campaign’s Honorary Co-Chairmen include former U.S. Senators Howard Baker (1925-2014), Bill Brock, Bill Frist and Fred Thompson, as well as former Governors Winfield Dunn and Don Sundquist.
