Lamar Alexander’s re-election campaign today announced new television and radio ads that show him pushing back against the Obama administration acting like a de facto “national school board.”

The ads, which will begin airing statewide Sunday, July 20, starts with Alexander saying that as governor he worked with President Ronald Reagan to get Washington out of local schools, and that now he’s fighting to stop President Obama from exerting more control. Alexander says, “Washington just can’t keep its sticky fingers off our public schools. That’s why I’m fighting to send those decisions back to states, back to parents where they belong.”

The education ad follows the release of a TV ad showing Alexander sparring with President Obama over Obamacare, an endorsement ad featuring former presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and a series of radio ads featuring community leaders across Tennessee.
