Independent Poll says 71% of Republicans view Lamar favorably
Over the weekend Rasmussen Reports published a statewide telephone survey of 750 likely Tennessee voters showing that Lamar defeats two Democrat nominees by 2-1 margins.
According to the survey, 71% of Republican voters view Lamar favorably. Among voters who identified themselves as conservatives, 68% view Lamar favorably.

At a Senate hearing last Wednesday, Lamar told Education Secretary Arne Duncan that his federal “overreach” is “undermining” support for high state academic standards and teacher evaluation, and is taking responsibility away from states, local officials, and teachers. It is Time to Finish the Keystone XL Pipeline
Last Tuesday Lamar co-sponsored legislation by Sen. John Hoeven, R-S.D. that would eliminate the need for President Obama’s approval of a permit to begin the construction and operation of the Keystone XL pipeline. Lamar said, “this legislation would remove the requirement for presidential approval of the pipeline, advancing a project that would make us more secure in our energy supply and create thousands of jobs for American workers.” Click here to read more from the Maryville Daily Times.
