Tax Day Message
April 15th was Tax Day and Lamar laid out his goals for the next year in a Chattanooga Times Free Press op-ed. Lamar’s message is simple – to solve our country’s toughest problems we must:
1)    Fix The Debt.
2)    Repeal and replace Obamacare with step-by-step reforms.
3)    Stop the $1.2 Billion tax hike on Tennesseans.
4)    Stop the IRS overreach.

Leadership in the Senate
The Tennessean highlights Lamar’s priorities as the next Chairman of the important H.E.L.P. (Health, Education, Labor and Pension) Committee if Republicans are able to defeat 6 Democrats in November.

Why is H.E.L.P. an important committee? As Chairman, Lamar will be able to carve up the Department of Education and send big chunks of our tax dollars back to the states, give parents the freedom to send their child to a school of their choice, end a de-facto national school board, and replace Obamacare with step-by-step reforms that emphasize choices and freedom and reduced costs.

Lamar in the State
The music industry not only means jobs in the Music City but jobs across Tennessee. On TuesdayLamar stopped by the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce luncheon to donate an original copy of “The Tennessee Waltz.”

On Wednesday, Lamar traveled to Smith County and Cumberland County to discuss getting rid of Obamacare, stopping the trend toward a "national school board," and his freedom to fish legislation. You may view pictures of his visits at our Facebook page:facebook.com/LamarAlexander

Lamar spent early Thursday morning meeting with The Mountain Press and touring the Sevier County Courthouse in Sevierville. Later that evening, Lamar was at Middle Tennessee State University participating in a discussion of the book “Coup.” “Coup” recaps the historic moments and bipartisan cooperation leading up to the early swearing-in of then Governor-elect Lamar Alexander.

From our family to yours, we hope you have a great Easter weekend.
