Speaking Out Against Obamacare Taxes in Memphis
Lamar is pushing for a repeal of the medical device tax and is pressing the Food and Drug Administration to lessen regulatory burdens on the industry, calling it “critical to creating jobs for Memphis and Tennessee.” Lamar held a press conference in front of Onyx Medical Corp. in Memphis and spoke about the importance of repealing the Obamacare tax on medical devices.

Fighting For Economic Growth Solutions in Chattanooga
Lamar spoke on the banks of the Tennessee River in favor of the Water Resources Development Act, which would “’be the most important steps taken in a realistic way to rebuild Chickmauga Lock,’ said Alexander.”

Protecting Our Natural Resources in the Great Smoky Mountains
Lamar attended the announcement of a plan to preserve nearly 4,000 acres connecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cherokee National Forest. In a statement, Lamar said “(a)ny effort to find new ways to protect that land and make more of it available for outdoor recreation certainly will be welcomed by Tennesseans. Today’s announcement means tens of thousands of Tennesseans and visitors will be able to continue to enjoy more hiking, hunting, fishing and boating.”

Proposing Solutions for Mercury Clean Up in Oak Ridge
Lamar was at Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge to announce a new water treatment plant to reduce radioactive mercury contamination in waterways which is considered “the greatest environmental risk” in the area.
