U.S. Chamber of Commerce Endorses Lamar
Last week, Lamar received the endorsement from the United States Chamber of Commerce. In a statement, Tom Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber, said the following: "The U.S. Chamber is pleased to endorse Senator Lamar Alexander for his work to advance legislation that encourages economic growth and job creation. In today's economy, we need leadership, and Senator Alexander will continue to help create jobs and get our country back on track.”
Stopping Obama Administration’s NLRB Overreach
Lamar has been focused on ensuring the National Labor Relations Board remains impartial but under President Obama, Lamar believes the NLRB is “tilted more than ever.” Later this year, Lamar will introduce legislation to correct the NLRB’s pro-union bias.
In reference to the recent news Volkswagen employees rejected the plan to become UAW members, Lamar reiterated his call for the UAW to “go back to wherever they came from and let’s go back to building cars and trucks” in Chattanooga.

Lamar talks Education on The Bill Bennett Show
Lamar appeared on The Bill Bennett Show and talked about his plan to reverse the trend towards a national school board and send all decisions about teachers and schools succeeding or failing back to where they belong, to the states. Lamar’s legislation would reaffirm that states are completely in charge of their own standards and curriculum.
